The trial implementation of the unilateral visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia will help accumulate experience to extend China's visa-free policy to more countries in the future.

Opening up to the outside world is a comprehensive process, which is not limited to investment and trade, but also includes opening up in the fields of culture, tourism, education, science and technology, medical care, etc.

Many foreigners who have been to China have shared their experiences on social media platforms, expressing fond impressions of a friendly, modern, safe and diverse country. Only by improving the convenience and attractiveness of entering China and allowing more overseas people to travel, work, live and study in China can more people from overseas see the real China.

Almost at the same time as the visa-free policy was announced, the State Council, China's Cabinet, approved Beijing building a demonstration zone for the expansion and opening the service industry, and unveiled specific pilot projects to further open up in the fields of telecommunications services, health and medical services, financial services and cultural and educational services.

What's more, access to foreign investment in the manufacturing industry at the national level has already been basically opened. At present, China is opening the service industry in a comprehensive and orderly manner. The service industry is closely related to systems and rules, institutions and policies. The policymakers still need to accumulate more experience and prepare for further promoting institutional opening up.

China officially applied to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement in September and November 2021 respectively. There are currently 21 pilot free trade zones across the country.

More opening-up policies should be formulated on the basis of previous experience, just like the pilot visa-free policy, so that more industries and individuals can benefit from the opening-up of the country. The dividends will become a new driving force for the high-quality development of the nation.
