GAZA -- At least 100 Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombardments that hit several homes in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to the state-run Palestine TV.

There are still a large number of people buried under the rubble and cannot be rescued, it said.

Israel resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on Friday morning after a temporary seven-day truce with Hamas collapsed. Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the ceasefire deal.

The death toll of Palestinians has risen to 193 in the Gaza Strip in the 24 hours since Israel resumed its attacks across the Palestinian enclave on Friday, the Gaza-based Health Ministry said Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Hamas-run Interior Ministry said in a statement that the Israeli air and artillery strikes destroyed several houses and three mosques in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of the Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.

On Friday, the Israeli army dropped leaflets warning residents of Khan Younis to evacuate to ensure their safety, according to Palestinian security sources.

The sources told Xinhua that the Israel Defense Forces declared Khan Younis as a "dangerous fighting zone", and demanded residents in the areas east of the city to take shelter in Rafah near the Egyptian border.

The Israeli army said in a statement on Saturday that it had attacked 400 targets over the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip, including 50 targets in Khan Younis.
