As the country's first animated film centering around the ancient Sanxingdui civilization, Heroes of the Golden Mask, an upcoming animated feature, is set to be released in domestic theaters on Dec 29.

The film recounts the adventures of five youngsters whose superpowers are related to the civilizations from ancient China, the fictional island of Atlantis, and Maya in Central America.

The movie has been authorized by the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, Sichuan province, with its highlighted scenes inspired by some of the museum's most well-known relics, such as a 3,000-year-old gold mask and a bronze tree sculpture standing at 3.96 meters tall.

As a co-production by China and Canada, the movie aims to showcase the charm of the Sanxingdui civilization and convey the essence and profoundness of Chinese culture to a global audience.
