Henan coal mine leaders dismissed in wake of accident

Two leaders of the No 12 mine of Pingdingshan Tian'an Coal Mining Co in Henan province, were dismissed from their posts after a deadly coal and gas outburst on Friday, according to a statement released by the mine's Party committee on Monday evening.
The statement said that Lyu Youchang, Party secretary of the mine, and Yang Jianshan, deputy Party secretary and the mine's director, were dismissed together.
Dai Zhixu was appointed to be a member of the Party committee, deputy Party secretary and director of the mine.
A coal and gas outburst caused by the sudden release of built-up pressure occurred on Friday as 425 workers were underground. Thirteen people died and three remain missing.
