"Bonjour, Paris. Bonjour, France. The fire under the snowy mountains is as bright as the sun in the tropical rainforest ..."

These are a few of the lyrics of the children's song Sing Wuzhishan to France.

"The children's singing speaks of the profound friendship between China and France, echoing in the mountains and forests," Hainan Daily noted.

The year 2024 is the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism. Jan 27 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. To commemorate the important year and day, a music video of Sing Wuzhishan to France — performed by the Li and Miao Ethnic Children's Chorus of Shuiman Township in Wuzhishan, Hainan province — was released online on Friday.

The song, inspired by the French song If I Had a Chance to Go to China, revolves around themes of friendly exchanges, appreciation of beauty and various elements of relations between the two countries.

The children's chorus was founded in August 2022. It is made up of students from the Li and Miao ethnic groups at Shuiman Center School, with the oldest being 11 years old and the youngest 7.
