As the world gears up for Chinese New Year celebrations starting on February 10th, Vivo Energy Kenya, the distributor and marketer of Shell products and services, has taken proactive steps to solidify its relationship with the Chinese business community operating in East African countries.

On Saturday, the company hosted a dinner in Nairobi, serving as a platform to celebrate and strengthen its collaborative ties with the Chinese enterprises.

Peter Murungi, the managing director of Vivo Energy Kenya, applauded Chinese investors for their invaluable contributions to Kenya's economic landscape.

"The Nairobi Expressway is the magic of our Chinese relationship and the development that you have brought to this country," Murungi said.

"The relationship between Vivo Energy Kenya and the Chinese community has grown from strength to strength over the last 10 to 15 years."

Murungi highlighted the remarkable resilience and determination displayed by Chinese business leaders, noting that they are renowned for their willingness to embrace challenges and take calculated risks.

In light of the current global challenges, Murungi expressed confidence in Kenya's ability to weather the storm, partly due to the enduring partnerships fostered by developmental partners.

Murungi said while the New Year may bring its share of challenges, the dawn also brings opportunities to work harder, be more innovative, and think outside the box.

He said Vivo Energy Kenya envisages being a steadfast partner to the Chinese business community in times of prosperity and adversity.
