The third season of the Chinese dating show, Love Actually, premiered on Tencent's video platform on Tuesday, bringing together carefully selected individuals, all aged 30 and above, in the quest for love.
The show has invited several single men and women from diverse backgrounds to live in a villa located in Sanya, Hainan province, for 21 days.
During the initial phase of the program, the villa becomes the temporary home for eight participants, evenly split between four men and four women. However, as the show progresses, the dynamics are set to change with the introduction of four new participants, strategically aimed at creating a "catfish effect" to spice up the romantic atmosphere.
Wang Peng, the show's director, emphasizes that all individuals featured on the show harbor a deep desire for intimate connections. He believes that placing individuals in an unfamiliar environment facilitates a genuine opening of hearts, catalyzing the development of emotional bonds.
The show also features an observational panel that explores the romantic chemistry among the participants. The observers comprise Du Sujuan, a teacher from East China University of Political Science and Law, along with actresses Jin Jing and Tang Yixin, and hosts Xie Nan and Zhang Chunye.
