Former regulatory commission chief investigated for suspected discipline and law violations

Zhang Jinsong, an official from the former China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, is being investigated for suspected severe violations of the discipline and law, China's top anti-corruption said.
The information about the investigation has been disclosed by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision online.
The investigation is being conducted by an anti-corruption team based in the National Financial Regulatory Administration as well as the supervisory department in Beijing's Tongzhou district, according to the information.
The China Banking and Insurance Regulator Commission has been transformed into the National Financial Regulatory Administration after an institutional reform of the Party and government departments in March last year.
