The graduation ceremony for the 2022 training class of the Beijing People's Art Theatre unfolded in the heart of the capital on April 17, marking a significant milestone for seven aspiring performers as they received their well-earned graduation certificates.
The distinguished certificates were presented by Feng Yuanzheng, esteemed actor and president of the Beijing People's Art Theatre, alongside actress Gong Lijun, who played a pivotal role in mentoring the young talents, and director Tang Ye, who led the comprehensive training program.
Highlighting the theater's rich legacy spanning over 70 years, Feng emphasized the institution's commitment to fostering exceptional acting skills and nurturing a strong work ethic, a tradition that was extended with the launch of its first training class in 2019 and furthered with the inauguration of its second class in 2022, drawing talented actors and actresses from across the country.
Throughout the yearlong training program, students were immersed in a diverse curriculum encompassing acting, traditional Chinese operas, dance, and Chinese folk arts, including xiangsheng, or cross-talk. Beyond classroom instruction, students were provided with invaluable opportunities to participate in the theater's live performances, enabling them to gain practical stage experience and refine their craft.
