The xieyi ("drawing the spirit") style of Chinese painting transcends mere brushwork, employing loose strokes to evoke a simple, abstract ambiance. It aims to convey a sense of freedom and expressiveness.

Throughout history, esteemed artists such as Xu Wei from the 16th century and modern virtuoso Qi Baishi have adeptly embraced the xieyi style, propelling the Chinese ink tradition into new artistic frontiers.
