In 1979, the introduction of several captivating wall paintings at Beijing Capital International Airport marked a pivotal moment in the integration of public art, enlightening observers to the dual purpose of art: not solely as adornment but as a medium for showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the nation to travelers arriving from various corners of the globe.

Fast forward to the present day, as the ambitious construction of Beijing Daxing International Airport took shape, a cadre of artists and designers from the Central Academy of Fine Arts was enlisted for the monumental task. Their mission extended beyond merely transforming the new airport into another gateway to the capital and the nation; it aimed to elevate the space into a beacon of artistic innovation. This endeavor saw the inclusion of diverse art forms, spanning installations and sculptures, offering visitors an immersive and engaging experience.
