Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea will visit China from Thursday to Saturday, the Foreign Ministry has announced.
China appreciated Sok Chenda Sophea's decision to make China his first stop of overseas visit since assuming office, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters on Tuesday.
During the visit, Chinese leaders will meet with him, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold talks with him to exchange views on bilateral cooperation as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest, according to the spokesman.
China looks forward to working with Cambodia to take this visit as an opportunity to further build the community with a shared future between the two countries so as to benefit the two peoples and make positive contributions to regional and world peace, stability and development, Wang said.
China and Cambodia are traditional and ironclad friends, he said, adding that the "diamond hexagon" bilateral cooperation framework has been enriched, and the building of the "industrial development corridor" and the "fish and rice corridor" have made positive progress.
