Former senior legislator of Inner Mongolia autonomous region under investigation

Wang Bo, a former senior legislator of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation, as announced by the country's top anti-graft watchdogs on Monday.

Wang, a former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the regional people's congress, is suspected of serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, according to a statement from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision.

Wang, 65, started working in 1977 and joined the Party in 1986. He began working in Inner Mongolia autonomous region in 1982.

He once held multiple positions, including the vice mayor of Chifeng and Baotou, mayor of Bayannuur and vice-chairman of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. He served as the vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the regional people's congress in January 2018 until January 2022, when he retired.
