At a Shandong Shuyue Vehicle Co Ltd factory, high-quality auto parts are being transported on the production lines in an orderly manner.

Based in Liangshan county, East China’s Shandong province, the specialized vehicle manufacturer said it plans to further increase production capacity this year by constructing a new manufacturing park.

Involving a total investment of 500 million yuan ($68.98 million), the manufacturing park is expected to generate 2 billion yuan in sales per year.

As home to multiple vehicle manufacturers, Liangshan can produce 350,000 specialized vehicles annually and its products have been exported to various regions such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Specialized vehicle is not the only key sector of Liangshan. Over the past few years, the county has spared no efforts to develop specialty industries, from rare-earth elements to green goods, aimed at fostering a modern industrial system.

The education services, for example, have become a resounding calling card of Liangshan county.

Liu Gang, governor of the county, said Liangshan currently has 120 education services companies, 92 of which focus on book design and distribution.

Liu said the county has held the China (Liangshan) Conference on the Development of Education and Book Information Industry for four consecutive years.

Besides, Liangshan has fostered excellent fruit and vegetable farming industries by developing complete industrial chains and renowned brands based on local features.

The county has advanced the standardized development of leek farming by building agricultural parks, distribution centers and cold storage warehouses.

Efforts have also been made to effectively allocate the resources of edible mushroom farming and construct more than a hundred of high-standard greenhouses.

Currently, Liangshan produces plenty of edible mushrooms including king oyster and seafood mushrooms, and its mushroom spawn bags have been sold to more than ten provinces across the country.

In addition, with the specialty industries embracing rapid growth, the local government has given full play to its increasing income and carried out a series of projects to improve local people’s livelihoods.

The government said it has continued to improve educational resources by building new schools and equipping the old ones with quality infrastructure.

Amid an aging society, the government said it has also helped the elderly renovate their bathrooms, which involves a total investment of 1.1 million yuan.

Shower chairs and armrests have been installed in the bathrooms, thereby bringing more convenience, comfort and safety to the elderly.
