Exhibition  Jump Into A Rabbit Hole: Chen Xi and Her Students and Echo: Dedicated to Alice presents a diverse array of paintings, sculptures, and installations by artist and professor Chen Xi and her student Li Linlin, illuminating the transformative journey from classroom to gallery space. [Photo provided to China Daily]

The exhibition serves as a platform for dialogue between Chen and her students, utilizing the motif of the "rabbit hole" as a unifying symbol.

In response to her mentor's thematic exploration, Li's own exhibition integrated elements from the world of Alice, guiding viewers through a fantastical realm reminiscent of fairy tales. Li's presentation, titled For Alice, draws parallels to a popular piano piece from the 1990s, symbolizing the unique experiences of the young generation.

A recent seminar in Beijing further dissected the nuances of contemporary Chinese art education and practice, inspired by the insights gleaned from the dual showcases. Experts emphasized that the transition from classroom to exhibition space signifies more than a mere physical shift — it embodies a seamless flow of ideas and inspiration. Through this process, knowledge is shared, perspectives collide, and creativity ignites, shaping a dynamic exchange of artistic expression and mentorship.
