Many scenic spots and public transportation services have been closed, and schools suspended classes to ensure the safety of residents and tourists on Wednesday.

In Laibin, Guangxi, the local marine department coordinated two ferries to rescue 53 people stranded by flooding in the town of Yunjiang on Wednesday.

In Shanghang county, in Fujian province, rescuers continued to search for six people caught in an ancient temple that collapsed under a mountain landslide on Sunday night, local authorities said.
