2024 World Intelligence Expo kicks off in Tianjin

The 2024 World Intelligence Expo commenced on Thursday and will continue until Sunday in Tianjin.

Themed "Intelligence: Expansive Development Space, Sustainable Growth Driver," the expo upholds principles of high-end quality, internationalization, specialization and market orientation, showcasing the evolving trends within the artificial intelligence industry.

Chen Min'er, Party chief of Tianjin, said: "We will leverage the expo as a platform to exchange experiences and foster collaborations with various stakeholders, actively propelling exploration and practical applications in the realm of artificial intelligence, thereby injecting fresh momentum into Tianjin's high-quality development."

Co-hosted by Tianjin and Chongqing, the event spans over 100,000 square meters at the National Convention & Exhibition Center in Tianjin, featuring 10 themed exhibition areas encompassing AI, intelligent connected vehicles and robotics. 

Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFlytek, remarked, "There is a pressing need for increased application of AI technologies in sectors closely tied to people's livelihoods... For instance, in Tianjin's Hexi district, AI has catalyzed advancements in education for primary and middle school students."

Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of Lenovo, noted, "Tianjin has emerged as a burgeoning hub for advanced innovation, supply chain operations, AI businesses and eco-friendly manufacturing for Lenovo." In the first quarter of this year, Lenovo witnessed an incremental value of 1.6 billion yuan ($220.4 million), and a 25% year-on-year revenue growth.

At the expo, an industrial alliance for the AI sector in Tianjin was inaugurated. Yu Hui, the Party chief of Tianjin Mobile and an initiator of the alliance, affirmed, "The company is committed to enhancing AI applications and industrial ecosystems."
