Steel, an industrial material that has seen rapid development in modern times, has not only secured the responsibility of ensuring food security for Shenqiu, a major agricultural county in the southeastern Henan province, but has also propelled the economic growth of the county.

In 2018, Henan Anyang Iron and Steel was established and kicked off the construction of its plant. In May 2021, the company successfully ignited the blast furnace in the first phase, and by the end of June, the entire production line was fully operational. On June 18, 2023, the construction of the world's widest plate production line was launched at Anyang's Zhoukou base. This production line features a configuration of a 5.6-meter rough rolling mill and a 5.5-meter finishing mill, with the rough rolling mill being the only one in the world with a width exceeding 5.5 meters. Once the project is completed, the Zhoukou base will become a production base for automotive steel, wide plates, and new electromagnetic materials with an annual output of 10,000,000 metric tons.

The State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company has organized professionals engaged in high-voltage device and operation maintenance to visit the site multiple times. Based on customer needs, they conducted regular electrical inspections on the power transmission equipment and helped customers identify and address electrical safety hazards. Chief service officers and customer managers utilized big data platforms to report the electricity consumption to customers daily and guided them in scheduling production shifts according to their actual situation. These efforts improved equipment utilization, reduced electricity costs, achieved energy conservation and loss reduction, and finally created a win-win result.
