In his land, Fan planted sorghum and soybeans. The farmland is equipped with seven of these machines, each covering more than 33 hectares of land with one rotation. These electric sprinklers are very convenient — just turn on the switch, start the power and they automatically water while moving. The 140 hectares of farmland only requires two people to manage.

Fan said that these large self-propelled sprinklers can simulate natural rainfall during irrigation, allowing for manual adjustment of water volume based on drought conditions. Compared to traditional ground irrigation, it can save more than 20 percent water. Since early June, after planting sorghum and soybeans, Fan has conducted two rounds of irrigation and supplementary watering for his farmland. Thanks to timely drought resistance measures, the germination rate of the crops is high, and their growth is promising.

"The self-propelled sprinkler not only saves water but also saves labor and resources. The electricity cost for watering one mu (667 square meters) of land is only about four to five kilowatt-hours. Generally speaking, the land can be watered once every 48 hours. We have already irrigated more than 1,700 mu of the land, and the work efficiency is very high. Since April of this year, the lack of effective rainfall has not affected my crops. In recent years, the planting base has achieved bumper harvests, and the device has played an important role. This could not have been achieved without the stable power supply and service from your power supply company," Fan said, expressing his satisfaction with his electric self-propelled sprinkler.

Along the road where Fan's land is located, high and low voltage power lines are neatly arranged, wellheads are distributed orderly and the power grid extends to the fields. With reliable power services for farming, Fan is confident to have another good harvest.

Facing the high temperatures and dry weather, State Grid Taihe County Power Supply Company organized a volunteer service team to visit the fields and assist in inspecting the farm machinery and well equipment. A comprehensive inspection was conducted on the power lines and special transformers related to wells to ensure a safe and stable power supply. The company actively assisted customers in carrying out maintenance and repairs of distribution equipment and opened a green channel for drought-resistant electricity customers. Priority is given to on-site surveys, response to proposals, meter installation, and other work to guarantee the electricity needs for drought resistance and agricultural production. Such efforts are providing solid electrical support for drought-resistant planting in this summer.
