Initiatives to enhance livelihoods in rural China are driving significant economic growth, as evidenced by recent efforts by State Grid in Puyang, Henan province.

On June 14, Zhao Xianliang, head of Xiu Jie Technology Woodworking Co expressed his gratitude to employees of the State Grid Corp during a visit. "Thank you so much for proactively addressing our electrical safety issues during power use peak periods," Zhao said.

Fanxian county, Puyang, has been recognized as one of China’s leading commercial counties, hosting over 800 wood processing enterprises. These businesses have an annual output value of 3 billion yuan and provide jobs for more than 20,000 people. The Zhangzhuang Township Wood Industry Park, located centrally in Fanxian county, has been designated both a Puyang Wood Industry Park and a National Forestry Industry Demonstration Park.

Xiu Jie, a medium-sized wood processing enterprise in Zhangzhuang, produces over 4,000 cubic meters of high-tech wood veneers annually, primarily sold to provinces like Anhui and Guangdong. "In recent years, the power supply has been sufficient and stable, allowing our three wood veneer machines to operate continuously," Zhao said, pointing to the running machines. "The power company has installed new lines and replaced transformers, enabling all three machines to work simultaneously without any issues."

The State Grid’s Puyang branch has been a key player in supporting rural revitalization by upgrading the rural power grid, increasing stability and reliability, and meeting the growing electricity needs of local industries. They have also introduced preferential electricity policies to reduce costs for rural businesses and households, fostering a favorable environment for industrial growth.

In Zhangzhuang alone, over the past three years, the company has constructed or upgraded 11.19 kilometers of 10-kilovolt lines and 26.84 kilometers of 400-volt lines, adding 29 new transformer stations with a capacity of 6,200 kilovolt-amperes.

The State Grid’s Puyang unit plans to prioritize customer experience and satisfaction, exploring service mechanisms that simplify procedures and enhance efficiency in the future. This commitment aims to ensure rapid and reliable power supply, supporting rural revitalization and local economic development.
