Eight Chinese police officers will depart for Croatia on July 15 to participate in the 2024 China-Croatia joint police patrol, said the Ministry of Public Security on Friday.

During the patrol, Chinese and Croatian officers will be mixed into teams and will carry out joint patrols for a month in locations such as Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Plitvice Lakes National Park, said the ministry.

The Chinese police team will also assist the Croatian side in addressing the security concerns of Chinese citizens and overseas Chinese in Croatia, jointly creating a safer tourism environment.

An officer from the ministry's International Cooperation Bureau stated that the joint patrol between the two countries embodies the concept of "cooperation, innovation, rule of law, and win-win" in law enforcement sector. Since the signing of the joint patrol memorandum in 2017, the law enforcement departments of China and Croatia have successfully conducted four joint patrols, earning widespread acclaim.

This joint patrol will further deepen bilateral law enforcement cooperation, creating a safer environment for personnel exchanges and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries, said the officer.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, in recent years, it has also successfully conducted multiple joint patrols with law enforcement agencies from Italy, Serbia, and other countries. Officers from these countries have also been invited to China for joint patrols, receiving high recognition from both Chinese and foreign tourists.
