Shanghai Disney Resort highlighted on Monday its ongoing efforts to support wild Amur tiger conservation and preserve biodiversity in recognition of the 14th annual Global Tiger Day.

Global Tiger Day aims to raise awareness of the threats facing wild tiger populations and their habitats worldwide. In China, the Amur tiger subspecies is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss and fragmentation.

Many classic Disney stories draw inspiration from wildlife, so caring for animals and promoting conservation has long been a core value, said Murray King, vice-president of Public Affairs and Communications at Shanghai Disney Resort.

"We're dedicated to taking tangible actions through collaborations with nonprofits to protect species, enhance biodiversity, and nurture the next generation of conservation stewards," he added.

Since 2018, Shanghai Disney Resort has partnered with the World Wide Fund For Nature Beijing Representative Office to support its Amur tiger conservation programs to help raise public awareness and make contributions to protecting wild Amur tigers and their habitats in Northeast China.
