From July 24 to Aug 2, the 2024 Camp Gung Ho in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, brought together 46 students from seven US states and 48 Chinese students for a unique cultural exchange experience.

The camp offered a range of activities designed to immerse students in Chinese culture. Highlights included crafting purple clay teapots at the Yixing Ceramic Museum, exploring local history at the Helyu City Site Museum, and enjoying adventures in Huishan Ancient Town.

At the Wuxi Modern Agriculture Expo Park campsite, students were divided into five groups to participate in various courses and sports activities, working together on numerous tasks.

The camp also featured special guests such as a local entrepreneur, a piano master, rap artists, and street dancers, who shared their knowledge and experiences with the participants.

The camp concluded on Aug 1 with a performance showcase by each group, culminating in a heartfelt rendition of "See You Again," which left a lasting impression on all present.

Reflections from the camp during their 10-day adventure included Chinese student Bu Ruitao's comment, "Despite my struggles with making the purple clay teapot, I succeeded with my friends' help, and I think that is the Gung Ho spirit."

"I learned a lot from special guests, and they encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I hope we can continue to work hard and work together. May our friendship last forever," said Aurelia Niamh Thompson from the US.

The 2024 Camp Gung Ho was sponsored by China Prospect Program, a public welfare promotion center in Shanghai, and the Helen Foster Snow Foundation.
