Live TV music performance premieres on a high note

A live TV music performance featuring ethnic elements from home and abroad has won over fans and ignited new interest among young audiences in the diverse ethnic music culture and instruments.
The show, featuring six pairs of Chinese singers and two sets of international singers, stages eight music performance showcasing different ethnic groups in China as well as music from Brazil and Russia. All the performances are original songs and audiences are impressed by the singing techniques of the performers as well as the diverse ethnic culture presented in the show.
The performances include ethnic cultures, musical instruments and clothing from Xinjiang Uygur and Xizang autonomous regions and Yunnan province. Chinese singer Yang Ge and Russian singer Mariya Poezzhaeva sang in a duet a Russian song.
The three-episode special TV show Music in Joy, premiered on Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV on Friday. According to Hunan Satellite TV, the program was No 1 among all shows aired by provincial TV stations during the same time slots. The show also garnered 880 million views on different social media platforms on Friday, it said.
In the backstage, ethnic Mongolian singer Ayunga taught the singers and hosts of the show how to perform Mongolian dance.
