More than 1,000 running lovers took to Beijing's highest hotel on Saturday as the 2024 Beijing Vertical Run took place at the China World Summit Wing in the city’s central business district (CBD) area.
Grouped into individual and team full challenge (81 floors) and fun climb (18 floors), participants enjoyed a climb on the 330-meter and 82-storied construction with 2,041 stairs.
The run has become a hallmark event in Beijing since it was introduced in 2013 and has won the hearts of sports lovers as an emerging healthy lifestyle.
The event was launched one week before, on August 9, by Zhi Luxun, general manager of the China World Trade Center, and Stephan Kapek, vice-president of operation at the China World Trade Center.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the China World Trade Center and the run is expected to inspire new opportunity to integrate sports events and business innovation.
