Lanxi Port Area in East China's Zhejiang province has recently optimized its layout by opening up a new operation area.
The Fangxiadian Operation Area (Phase I), which has been under construction since November 2021, is mainly utilized to load and unload containers, bulk cargo, and general cargo. It is a key part of the comprehensive transportation system in Lanxi, a county-level city of Jinhua.
With the operation area in place, Lanxi's waterborne import and export of bulk commodities are expected to be facilitated, and the city will embrace further economic growth.
Located at the confluence of three rivers, Lanxi has given full play to its geographical advantages over recent years. The city has built a series of new port operation areas and continuously advanced the integration of different modes of transport, including road, rail, and sea.
The local power supplier has played its part by regularly dispatching workers to inspect the port operation areas.
"The ongoing hot weather and the surging demand for electricity have both posed a serious threat to the normal operation of the electrical devices," said Cao Pan, a worker from the State Grid's Jinhua Power Supply Co.
Against such a backdrop, Cao said they have utilized clamp-on ammeters, infrared thermometers, and drones to inspect the transmission lines and large electrical devices such as cranes and conveyor belts.
Efforts have also been made to communicate with the port workers, collect their requirements, and guide them in using electricity more safely.
Cooperating with the local government, the company will continue to provide sound support for constructing new projects in the Lanxi Port Area, Cao added.
