A photovoltaic station combines power generation with fishery aquaculture to develop greener energy with lower costs in Chuzhou City of Anhui province.

Covering a water area of 3,720 acres with an installed capacity of 140 megawatts, the solar station generates power with the floating photovoltaic cells while farms fish underwater.

The station-fishery hybrid generates an average of 180 million kilowatt-hours annually to save approximately 67,000 tons of standard coal, and reduces carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions by 170,000 tons and 614 tons, respectively.

As of the end of July, the cumulative grid-connected electricity amounted to 1.33 billion kilowatt-hours.

The State Grid Chuzhou Power Company has been promoting power generation with greener and cleaner energy through other methods like rooftop generation and wind energy.
