Goldwind Science & Technology Co Ltd, a Chinese wind turbine manufacturer located in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, continues to integrate digital technology into its production, expand the company's footprint in the global market, and promote the high-quality development of the industry.

"As one of China's first batch of wind power equipment manufacturers heads to the global market, Goldwind has expanded its business into 42 countries in six continents," said Fang Zhong, general manager of Goldwind.

"The company's total installed capacity is over 1 gigawatt in Asia (excluding China), North America, Oceania, and South America, respectively. The cumulative export of wind turbines accounted for nearly 50 percent of the country's total wind turbine exports. Over 60 percent of export destinations of the company's wind turbines are countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative," Fang added.

The company's intelligent factory in Dabancheng installs glass walls to reduce electricity consumption. Equipped with a 2,000 kW electric boiler, the factory can reduce energy consumption equivalent to 2,116.8 tons of standard coal per year. On top of that, a 2-megawatt wind turbine, 403 kW photovoltaic energy facilitates 95 percent self-supply of the factory's green electricity, said Ma Peng, deputy director of Goldwind's assembly factory in Dabancheng.

"The company also participates in green electricity trading and carbon trading, which makes the entire factory utilize green energy during production," Fang added.

"Automated guided vehicles help connect the production process, making the continuation of each process smoother. Now we can produce a wind turbine unit in 3.5 hours, reaching a production capacity of two units per day," said Fang.

The company's revenue saw significant growth from overseas markets in the first half of the year, reaching 4.78 billion yuan ($673 million), accounting for 23.65 percent of its overall revenue, up 83.88 percent year-on-year, according to the company's announcement released on Aug 23.
