China Daily app launches French news service

As the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation approaches, China Daily has launched an AI-powered French news translation service on its mobile app.

This new feature aims to better communicate the latest achievements of South-South cooperation to the global audience and effectively reach more French-speaking users around the world.

Powered by the nation's advanced AI translation technology, the China Daily app now allows readers to access French translations of its award-winning English multimedia content with just a single click. This new capability marks a significant step forward in China Daily's efforts to enhance its international communication and cultural exchanges.

Since the launch of the new app version, the French news service has garnered significant attention from African francophone users. Within just one week of its release on the Palm Store, a popular app store for Transsion phones, the app's download numbers have surged, with an average of 50,000 daily downloads by African users. The app quickly climbed to the top of the download charts, reflecting the strong demand and interest in the French news service across the African continent.

Originally launched in 2009, the China Daily app has continuously enhanced its professional, audiovisual and intelligent communication capabilities, with a global download count exceeding 42 million.
