China announced that they will provide emergency humanitarian medical supplies to Lebanon to help the country carry out medical assistance, the China International Development Cooperation Agency announced on Tuesday.

As the situation between Lebanon and Israel intensified, explosions of communication equipment and air strikes in Lebanon have caused a large number of casualties, Li Ming, spokesman of the CIDCA, said in a statement.

At the request of the Lebanese government, the Chinese government decided to provide such aid, Li said.
