During the just passed National Day holiday, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region's first zero-carbon power station was built and put into operation in Kuqa, a county level city in Aksu, in an effort to facilitate grid management and provide more convenient services for the public.

Named the Snow Lotus Bright Station, the power station features a 24-square-meter, 5-kilowatt rooftop solar panel system and a 20-kilowatt-hour energy storage battery, achieving self-sufficient electricity generation for internal station equipment and zero-carbon operation, said the State Grid Kuqa Power Supply Co, the station’s operator.

"The establishment of the station is very convenient for nearby residents and tourists. Not only can they take a break, but they can also charge their devices and enjoy many other services, all thanks to cutting-edge technologies," said a resident in Aksu surnamed Chen.

Going forward, Aksu will continue to promote the construction of zero-carbon power stations, extend power supply services, and create a new service model that deeply integrates power supply with the new energy industry and low-carbon living, said State Grid Aksu Power Supply Co.

"The creation of this zero-carbon station provides a support point for us to serve grassroots communities and optimize grid management. We will carefully build an integrated government-enterprise network governance system to better serve local residents," said Mailiyemu, head of the station.
