However, I had a few concerns leading up to the game. One of my main worries was the potential language barrier, as smooth communication is critical. I was also mindful of the differences in playing styles, knowing that Chinese teams are highly skilled and play at a very fast pace. Lastly, the presence of dignitaries from both countries added another layer of pressure. We weren't just playing a game—we were participating in a larger cultural exchange that symbolized collaboration between the two nations.

To prepare, we had multiple practice sessions, especially during the week before the event. Additionally, we held meetings and maintained open communication with the Chinese team to align expectations, discuss logistics, and ensure the event would run smoothly. These efforts helped us minimize misunderstandings, foster mutual respect, and enter the match feeling prepared both physically and mentally.

On game day, Oct 6, 2024, nervous energy filled the air from the moment I arrived at the rink. Before the game, we practiced the etiquette we had been taught, ensuring we behaved respectfully throughout the event and knew where we needed to be at all times.

As the game began, my nerves only grew. I wanted to play my best, knowing how important this match was for both nations. Playing alongside Her Majesty the Queen on the same line was a surreal and humbling experience. The most unforgettable moment was when the Queen scored — it was incredible to witness her talent and composure on the ice.

After the final whistle, I was filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. I felt honored to have been part of such a meaningful event.

Looking ahead, I imagine an ideal relationship between China's national team and Thailand's national team built on mutual respect, shared goals, and continuous growth. I hope both teams can work closely together, striving to elevate the level of ice hockey in our regions.

A rematch in Beijing next year would be especially meaningful, as it would coincide with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Competing on such an occasion would reflect the strength and unity between our nations. For me and my teammates, the opportunity to play in Beijing would be both an honor and a challenge, pushing us to perform at our best. I believe that sports have a unique way of transcending borders, and events like this are perfect examples of how ice hockey can strengthen international relationships.

As the captain of Thailand's women's national ice hockey team, I envision a future where both teams continue to grow side by side, supporting each other's development and inspiring younger generations to view sports as a means of unity, learning, and friendship.
