Li: China willing to enhance relations with Russia

Beijing is willing to strengthen strategic coordination with Moscow, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and make contributions to realizing the development and revitalization of the two countries as well as promoting prosperity and stability in the world, Premier Li Qiang said.
On Wednesday, Li met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Pakistan's capital Islamabad.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era maintains a high level of development, and the two sides firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests, Li said.
Beijing is willing to further deepen cooperation with Moscow in traditional fields such as economy, trade and energy, promote cooperation in emerging sectors such as the digital economy, and constantly upgrade the level of collaboration in industrial chains and supply chains, he said.
The two sides should push the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to be more united and enterprising, focus on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, digital economy and green industry, and promote more pragmatic cooperation and more inclusive results from the grouping, he said.
Mishustin said the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era is at a level of record high.
In the current international situation, Russia is ready to support each other in safeguarding their core interests, he said.
Moscow is willing to strengthen the synergy of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union, and deepen practical cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, energy, transportation and agriculture, he said.
Russia is willing to closely communicate and collaborate with China within frameworks such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS to promote the sustained and in-depth development of relations between the two countries, he added.
