The original industrial-themed musical Dream Chasers by the Art Ensemble of the All-China Federation of Trade Union will be presented at the 23rd China Shanghai International Arts Festival from Oct 19 to 20. The musical will be performed at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center for three consecutive shows.

With a background in high-speed railway research and development, the original musical Dream Chasers describes the struggle of the main character Chen Yuhong, a high-speed railway worker, who leads the team to overcome various hardships and finally reach success with the joint endeavor from Chinese railroad workers, vividly demonstrating the development of China's railroads.

In a nod to the countless Chinese railroad workers, the musical also pays tribute to Shanghai, the birthplace of the Chinese worker movement and the working class.

Since its premiere at the China National Opera House in Beijing on May 31, the musical has received unanimous acclaim from industry experts and the community, making it a noteworthy must-see.
