Douyin innovates entertainment promotion

Short-video platform Douyin recently launched an innovative program called Show Me the Drama, which brings together leading actors from hit film and television productions and active creators on Douyin to complete interesting challenges. The program designs game segments and stage settings based on the unique characteristics of various film and TV content and their featured actors.

In recent years, the film and television market has been particularly vibrant with many works flourishing. Meanwhile, promotional methods have been evolving with the help of short videos driving explosive success in the entertainment industry. This program aims to make active content creators from various fields on Douyin more widely known while promoting high-quality film and television productions.

Hosted by Xie Nan, the program features regular guests such as pop idols Zhang Yanqi, Huang Xinchun and Dong Yanlei, as well as anchorwoman Shen Mengchen.

For example, in an episode featuring the cast of the movie Decoded, which focuses on the dedication of mathematical genius Rong Jinzhen's code-breaking in the 1940s, the stage is designed as a mathematics classroom where creators majoring in mathematics at Tsinghua University or Peking University lead the audience in exploring the mysteries of the math world. Another episode invites the cast of the suspense drama Horror Stories of Tang Dynasty to re-create the etiquette of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

This variety show aims to leverage innovative content to promote film and television production and re-create classic scenes from films and dramas to enhance viewer interest.
