Li promotes conservation, green development

Premier Li Qiang has called for prioritizing ecological conservation, promoting green development and ensuring energy supply to promote high-quality growth.

Li made the remarks during an inspection tour in the Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In Yinchuan, Ningxia, he urged efforts to improve the ecological environment, and diversify businesses and industries to boost residents' incomes.

In the cities of Ordos and Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, he underscored the need to coordinate efforts to fight desertification and develop energy bases.

Legislator pushes whole-process people's democracy

Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, has called for leveraging the distinctive political strength of the system of people's congresses and promoting the whole-process people's democracy.

Zhao made the remarks during an inspection tour in Liaoning province from Monday to Thursday, which took him to the cities of Dandong, Dalian and Shenyang.

He emphasized the importance of upholding the correct political direction of integrating the Party's leadership, the status of the people as the masters of the country and the rule of law.

CPPCC chair urges Xinjiang to implement Party policies

Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the nation's top political advisory body, has emphasized the need to comprehensively implement the policies of the Communist Party of China for the governance of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region in the new era.

Wang made the remarks during an inspection tour in Xinjiang from Monday to Thursday, which took him to Kashgar and Hotan. He called for enhancing the nation's sense of community and building a beautiful Xinjiang amid the nation's modernization drive.
