Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, led a CPC delegation on an official and friendly visit to Kenya from Sunday to Tuesday.

During the trip, Li, also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, met with Kenyan President and Leader of the United Democratic Alliance William Ruto, and held talks with UDA Secretary-General Hassan Omar.

Li said China hopes to strengthen exchanges of anti-corruption experience with Kenya, and work with Kenya to jointly combat cross-border corruption crimes.

The Kenyan side said significant achievements have been made during the CPC-led fight against corruption, and that it hopes to learn from the experience to strengthen its own party-building.

Li also visited the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, a flagship Belt and Road Initiative cooperation project and a coffee farm that is collaborating with its Chinese counterparts, and attended a symposium on promoting the integrity of Chinese companies in Kenya.
