Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, is boosting its technology-enhanced "sports + entertainment" program in a bid to lift residents' well-being and make their lives more enjoyable.

As a semi-provincial city, Wuhan administers 13 administrative districts of Jiang'an, Jianghan, Qiaokou, Hanyang, Wuchang, Qingshan, Hongshan, Caidian, Jiangxia, Huangpi, Xinzhou, Dongxihu and Hannan, with a total population of 13.77 million by the end of 2023.

On Nov 3, the city unveiled a cutting-edge 10,000-square-meter venue that promises to be the ultimate destination for sports, entertainment and family fun in the Wuhan region.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Longyang Lake Ecological Area's Fairy Tale Forest Park in Hanyang district, Topgolf Wuha blends seamlessly into the lush natural surroundings, creating an exciting and vibrant atmosphere.

With three stories boasting 95 technology-enabled sports game bays, Topgolf — originating in the United Kingdom in 2000 — is creating a comprehensive sports and entertainment landmark to promote Wuhan's fitness and activity culture.

Celebrating the opening of the new venue, Artie Starrs, CEO of Topgolf International, noted: "I am absolutely delighted that the local Wuhanese players will be able to experience this one-stop sports-entertainment complex that's fit for all ages."

"With over 100 venues worldwide, being able to bring Topgolf – an internationally well-loved concept – to Central China, is a meaningful milestone for Topgolf," he said.

The multi-purpose venue invites players to enjoy a variety of games from its sports bays, like Top Score, Block Party, Angry Birds and more, thanks to advanced technologies like Toptracer and RFID chipping balls.

"We want to be the place that you enjoy with your family and friends – no matter your age or sports skill level," said Joe Canterbury, co-founder and executive board member of Topgolf China, adding that "I appreciate the support from the Wuhan and Hanyang government leaders in working together with us to bring this unique project to life."
