Rescue pup Lightening Jr steals hearts in quake-hit Shigatse

Lightening Jr, a search and rescue dog from the Chongqing Blue Sky Rescue Team, has captured online attention thanks to its rescue efforts across several villages in Lhatse county, Shigatse of the Xizang autonomous region. Photos of the dog, named Lightening Jr, posing with local children have been widely shared. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Since Jan 9, the Chongqing Blue Sky Rescue Team has been conducting search and rescue operations and delivering supplies in various quake-hit areas in Lhatse. The team is a dedicated non-profit search-and-rescue organization in Chongqing.

According to Luo Mingwen, leader of the team, Lightening Jr is the offspring of Chongqing's renowned search-and-rescue dog Lightening.
