Wang: China ready to deepen practical cooperation with Japan

Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China's readiness to deepen practical cooperation with Japan, especially in youth exchanges and local interactions, to continuously support each other's development and solidify the public foundation of bilateral ties.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Toshihiro Nikai, former secretary-general of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, and representatives of the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' Union on Friday local time in Tokyo.

Wang commended Nikai for his longstanding dedication to advancing bilateral relations and encouraged him and friends from various sectors in Japan to make fresh contributions to the healthy and stable growth of China-Japan relations.

Highlighting Chinese economy has shown strong resilience and broad prospects, he emphasized China's high-quality development presents significant opportunities for cooperation between the two nations.

Nikai emphasized the importance of promoting friendly exchanges between the two peoples and expressed commitment to advancing friendship between the two countries and contributing to the ongoing progress of bilateral ties.
