Internationally renowned artist Chiharu Shiota brings to Beijing a world of emptiness and meditation, imbued with an Eastern outlook. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The exhibition gathers several large installations, to immerse the audience in red threads that fall from the ceiling to the ground, white plastic tubes and dark rooms — the three hues that Shiota primarily uses to represent life, purity and universe.

Delivering an Eastern philosophical touch, her works usher people into a state of meditation, to ponder existential questions and at the same time thinking of ways to connect with others.
