The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday dismissed allegations by Canadian security authorities, which claimed that China may interfere in Canada's election, saying it "has never interfered in Canada's internal affairs and has no interest in doing so".

At the Foreign Ministry's regular news conference, a reporter cited the Canadian Security Intelligence Service's claim that China, India and other countries may try to interfere in the upcoming Canadian election to be held on April 28.

The intelligence agency also claimed that China is highly likely to use artificial intelligence tools to interfere in the election.

In response, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said, "China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries".

China "has never interfered in Canada's internal affairs and has no interest in doing so", he added.
