The State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) has announced the full commencement of construction for its alumina refinery in Guinea, a significant step in strengthening economic ties between China and Guinea.
The refinery represents a substantial investment and is designed to have an initial production capacity of 1.2 million metric tons annually. It is expected to play a major role in the Guinean economy as it will stimulate local job creation, increase tax revenues, boost local industrial capacity, and contribute to the country's economic transformation.
The refinery is hailed by Guinean officials as an example of deepened China-Guinea cooperation in the mining industry.
