TEHRAN - The foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt discussed the situation in Gaza in a phone call on Sunday, exchanging views on the latest regional developments.

During the call, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty also shared greetings for the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday.

The Iranian foreign minister highlighted his recent diplomatic consultations with various countries, including those in the West Asia region, over the past two weeks. He stressed the importance of continued "coordinated actions" by regional countries to prevent further conflicts.

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister provided an update on his country's efforts to restore the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and emphasized the ongoing need for diplomatic efforts to prevent a further escalation of insecurity in the region.
