This year marks the 20th anniversary of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain, and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union.

Amid this, on April 10, a delegation from Northeast China's Jilin province held a tourism promotion and cultural exchange under the theme 'Colorful Seasons, Wonderful Jilin' in Madrid, Spain, aimed at showcasing Jilin and building a bridge of friendship for mutual learning.
Cao Lubao, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department; Liu Shijun, executive director of the United Nations World Tourism Organization; and Qu Xun, the Chinese envoy to Spain, attended the event and delivered speeches.

Some enterprise leaders from Spain participated in the event, expressing prospects for cooperation between Jilin and Spain in the fields of cultural and artistic integration, smart tourism and heritage protection. Some of them said that these will serve as important carriers for promoting cultural exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries in the future.
Representatives from the Jilin Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Spain-China Friendship Association, the Jilin Provincial Tourism Association, the Spanish Travel Agency Association, Jilin Northeast Asia Publishing and Media Group, and Dazhong Publishing House signed agreements, strategic cooperation agreements, and memorandums of cooperation with each other.

It marked the establishment of a cooperation framework in the areas of city exchanges, cultural and tourism collaboration, and publishing exchanges. This opens up a new chapter of multidimensional and in-depth practical cooperation between the two countries.
The event featured a variety of promotions, including nongyue dances from the Korean ethnic group, guqin zither performances, Mongolian ethnic dances, and the screening of tourism film Discover the Colorful Jilin, as well as a themed photography exhibition.

During the visit, the Jilin cultural delegation visited the investment promotion bureau, the cultural heritage bureau, the tourism bureau in Catalonia autonomous community, as well as audiovisual industry clusters, the Cervantes Institute, the Teatro Real (Royal Theatre), and the Zhihua Lecture Foundation to promote cooperation between the two sides in various fields. These include technology, audiovisual digital media, cultural tourism, language, economy and trade, education and sports.
The efforts are deepening exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the West. Among them, Jishi Media and Zhihua Lecture signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and held a ceremony for the opening and donation of the Jishi Book Corner.
