KIEV -- At least 10 people were killed and more than 90 injured on Tuesday as Russian missiles struck two cities in Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region, regional governor Sergii Lysak said.

In the city of Dnipro, at least eight people were killed and around 84 injured in the attack, Lysak said on Telegram.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov described the strike as one of the most severe assaults on the city since the start of the conflict. He said that 34 educational institutions, eight healthcare facilities, and a passenger train traveling from Odesa to Zaporizhzhia were damaged in the attack.

Elsewhere, in the city of Samar — located about 26 km northeast of Dnipro — two people were killed and 11 injured.
