Nie Chang, a 26-year-old Tibetan language teacher, is gaining recognition for bringing together learners from around the world and turning his passion into a cultural bridge.
Raised in Shaanxi province and educated far from the Tibetan plateau, Nie began learning Tibetan in 2017 while attending Zhejiang University. Determined to master the language, he immersed himself in textbooks and dictionaries, crafting his own study summaries.
By 2021, he had developed a structured curriculum tailored for learners with no background in Tibetan language or culture.
He also shares engaging online content, including vlogs from Lhasa's streets, videos on Tibetan cuisine and festivals, and cultural stories, across platforms such as Bilibili and Weibo.
Over 250 students have completed his courses, which range from beginner to advanced levels, fostering a global appreciation for Tibetan culture.
