80 years on: UN's role grows more critical in global village today

"The need for the UN has become even greater 80 years later because we now live in a small, interdependent global village," said Kishore Mahbubani, former permanent representative of Singapore to the UN, at the "Vision China" event themed "Standing United: Inheriting the UN Legacy, Advancing Global Governance" at the UN headquarters in New York on Sept 15. He added that we certainly need to engage in a deeper dialogue among civilizations in this multipolar, multi-civilizational world.
