Pizza Hut China debuts “little red hat” youth volunteer program in Beijing

As food delivery riders become an increasingly important part of China's urban service economy, Pizza Hut China has recently launched a youth volunteer initiative targeting this group in Beijing.

The first Beijing activity of the "little red hat" youth volunteer program was held at a Pizza Hut outlet in the CBD area, where teenage volunteers prepared freshly made pizzas and handmade thermal knee pads for food delivery riders working through the winter.

The series program, jointly launched by Pizza Hut China and the China Volunteer Service Foundation in November, aims to build volunteer service hubs through Pizza Hut's nationwide restaurant network, linking corporate resources with community-based public welfare initiatives.

"For many of us, this kind of recognition means a lot," said Li Fuwang, a delivery rider who took part in the event. "This care will become a greater motivation for us to safely deliver and serve everyone in the future."

Pizza Hut said the program is designed not only to provide assistance to groups in need, but also to help young people develop a sense of social responsibility through hands-on participation.

Since opening its first mainland restaurant in Beijing in 1990, Pizza Hut has been expanding its community engagement efforts alongside its business growth. The company plans to gradually roll out the "little red hat" event in cities including Beijing and Shanghai, offering volunteer opportunities tailored to young people, ranging from environmental initiatives to neighborhood services.

By leveraging its extensive store network, the company aims to establish a more sustainable model of corporate-community collaboration, encouraging youth participation in volunteer work and contributing to more inclusive urban development.
