China creates over 12 million new urban jobs in the first 11 months

China created 12.1 million new urban jobs in the first 11 months of this year, official data showed on Tuesday, reflecting a generally stable employment situation.

The average surveyed urban unemployment rate was recorded at 5.2 percent during this period, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

This stability aligns with a series of pro-employment and economic stabilization policies introduced this year. Central authorities have prioritized job stability as the foremost task to ensure stability across the four key areas — employment, enterprises, the market, and expectations.

An official from the ministry's employment promotion department said the next steps will involve implementing measures to both stabilize and expand employment while improving job quality. Efforts will focus on key groups through targeted policies, enhance vocational skills training to boost workers' employability, optimize public employment services for better job matching, and increase support for entrepreneurship to stimulate a multiplier effect in job creation.
